Library Fundraising now for ‘Extras’

The Library Committee has raised $168,500 toward their $500,000 goal for the new library. The money will supplement taxpayer-financed furnishings and fittings. Remember when the plan was a $7MM library with $3MM in donations to offset the total cost so taxpayers funded $4MM? Now taxpayers are funding $8MM in current bonding plus $350K in the capital immprovement plan for furnishings and fixtures. Adam Leech reports on the fundraising for the Portsmouth Herald.
